Day 186 of 365

We're back from our over night camping trip down at Big Sur. Weather was wonderful and camping amongst the giant Redwoods is pretty cool. Not far from our campground there is Pfeiffer beach which has some cool rock formations with these chutes carved through them. I've seen sunset photos of these and they are pretty nice but we were there mid day so just took photos of the water coming through the chute. The gates close at 9pm so summer time isn't a good time for sunset photos there anyway since the sun doesn't go completely down until after that time. I'm thinking a good time to visit would be a nice clear day in the winter, which we get plenty of.

I was expecting a shot of you riding a surfboard through them, now that would be impressive, although slightly dumb.

I love this photo! The "sunset through the gap" photo is so often shot that it's been done to death. This is a nice, unique take on this spot.

"impressive, although slightly dumb." Major snortage, danudin! Shame on the wife who'd let that head injury happen! LOL

This is a cool shot - I really like the others you took in this series of the surf coming through that aren't posted here.

I went to big sur and took a photo of the very same thing. the beach was absolutely beautiful, but it was too windy. My legs were raw from being stung by the flying sand.
