I'll cut you (part 2)

Can you make something downright nasty, like concertina wire, into something more pleasing to the eye?

Lines

I wasn't sure what I'd find on the photowalk but it was pretty apparent when I got there that my focus would be on lines and shapes.

Shattered

So many tiny little pieces of shattered dreams...err...of broken glass.

Shadows

The cloud cover opened up just enough as I walked by some storefronts and this shadow formed on a large concrete support. The louvred overhang supplied the pattern.

Streamers on a wire

IMG_9072.jpg, originally uploaded by Rob Weiher.

I was just thinking the other day while walking around campus and seeing kids with their iPods on and furiously texting while walking that they must miss so many things. I'm always taking in my environment...then again I don't own a Smart phone.

Mirror mirror

IMG_9122.jpg, originally uploaded by Rob Weiher.

Funny thing is I've walked by these mirrors several times while roaming around the town I live in and never thought to take a photo. It took heading to San Francisco and consciously looking for lines and shapes for me to find it appealing.

I will cut you!

IMG_9101.jpg, originally uploaded by Rob Weiher.

Another from the SF photowalk. I had gotten away from the main group of people and found this concertina wire on top of an old fence. As people came up on me shooting these a line formed behind me...my theme was lines and shapes and I created my own line...of people waiting behind me. Haha...I make myself laugh sometimes.

I'm going that way

I'm going that way, originally uploaded by Rob Weiher.
Picked up my camera for the first time in about two months today. Adobe was doing a photowalk at their SF office so decided to head up there to get out of my surroundings and find some inspiration. Ended up shooting things I could very well find here but it did get my creative juices flowing again.
