Day 96 of 365

Yesterdays photos were with my 50mm lens so today after work I ventured out into my backyard with my 70-300 macro lens and crawled around looking for small flowers. Found baby Lupine and after clearing some grass out of the way took this with the setting sun to my front which is giving this the nice little glow.

You just never know what you might find if you get down low to the ground and look around.

Hey, now THAT is a cool shot! Not sure why this one stands out for me but it does - nice job!

Mmm. Gotta say I like it. The backlighting is just gorgeous and the lines in the bokeh look just like brushstrokes.

That is tremendous! I sometimes have to remind myself that your images are not treated to post-processing.

Really nice lighting on this one. Just curious, why did you choose a centered composition?

I always feel guilty when I do, like 'a REAL photographer would never put his subject dead center.'

It works here, though. I like it.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Jessica...I tried a few other compositions of this little flower but this one I liked the best. I could have put it off center but didn't find the background appealing or strong enough to carry a large part of the photo. I also don't have a problem with breaking composition rules on occasion. If it works it works and who came up with the rules anyway :)

Beautiful lighting on this one - super!

Chalk this one up to operator error which turned out fine. I had earlier set my white balance for shade and took this photo is full sunlight with that setting. This would be why it's more yellow than green but I like the yellow better. Sometimes having the wrong white balance setting isn't a bad thing I guess :)
