Day 225 of 365, originally uploaded by Rob Weiher.A forest fire near Santa Cruz is blanketing Monterey with smoke and ash. I took this from my backyard after work.
I decided at the last minute to head down to the beach before the sun set but was about 2 minutes late but liked the shape of the smoke clouds over the bay and Monterey.

Awesome shots Rob, looks like a scene from the Lord of the Rings, just before the attack on Mordor. Love it, hope you are all safe, fire scare me.
They're beautiful. I particularly love the shape of the trees in the first one. But I like them both.
